N E W M O O N I N L E O - 15th of August 2023
These past few weeks, the sign of Leo has been particularly highlighted. Venus is retrograde in the constellation of the King for 40 days (from July 23rd to September 4th), and allows us to deeply reflect on our personal values: What is my value system and in what ways should I reassess it? What principles did I inherit (conditioning)? And do I want to break free (deconditioning) ? What do I love? or Who do I love ? (there is often talk of a "return of old loves" during Venus retrograde). What is meaningful to me ?
During this period, we become conscious of our contradictions through conflicts and negotiations with the ones we love (and with ourselves, as this retrograde offers many opportunities for existential check-ups). It's a subjective process (emanating from within) that intents to reconnect us with what we deemessential. The next step is to assert (or reassert) those values to those around us, or even to create new ones if certain relationship patterns and ways of functionning are no longer adequate. The Lion asks us to "dare our own power," says Luc Bigé, and express ourselves from a center: without too muchpride or a secret desire to crush and belittle the other, but with simplicity and (if possible) great sense of humor.
Understanding this complex message implies going through several stages: in the first half of August, Venus was traveling very close to the Black Moons in Leo (she even came into conjunction with Lilith on the 8th and 9th of August), which could have been painful for some, then cathartic. The Black Moon in Leo isn't necessarily a pleasant place to visit, as it puts us in touch with our existential wound. This conjunction had the merit of bringing it to light ("lucidity is the wound closest to the sun," wrote René Char // "the wound is where the light gets in," as Rumi said - you get the idea).
Then, on Saturday the 12th, Venus was "cazimi" with the sun (conjunct), allowing new solutions and resolutions to emerge (cazimi comes from the Arabic word "kasmimi," which means "in the heart"): things calmed down, it was a moment of connection with our intimate truth, and we had opportunity of expressing it to our precious others. Tomorrow August 16th, the New Moon will be exact at the 23rd degree of Leovcoincidentally, it's the degree where the conjunction between Venus and the Black Moon occurred on August 9th). This New Moon allows for a fresh start. It brings closure to a reflection that began last February, during the Full Moon in the Leo-Aquarius axis. It also concludes the somewhat intense journey we went through early August: it's a new possibility, a beginning (with oneself, with others), perhaps the acceptance of the wound. The New Moon in Leo asks us to be authentic (not dramatic). And the lion is only truly authentic when connecting with his shadow side, the great Unknown which shines from the darkness of his psyche (new moon: union of the sun and moon in a ink-dark sky, acceptance of the shadows where all truths take root), and when it reveals his shadow side to others. Tomorrow we’ll come to know a truly powerful being (a Queen/a King) acknowledges and embraces his weaknesses.
Venus will resume its direct motion on September 4th and will remain in Leo until October. More surprises to come.
Happy New Moon !
F U L L M O O N I N S C O R P I O - 3rd of may 2023
Tomorrow is the full moon in Scorpio. It is also the last eclipse in the Taurus-Scorpio axis, which ends a cycle that started in January 2022 (when the lunar nodes entered these two signs): the South Node currently in Scorpio represents our karma, what we must let go of, and the North Node in Taurus our darma, where we should go.
Letting go of Scorpio is letting go of analysis and learning how to just be. Being under a tree, in someone’s eyes, on a dance floor, abroad, being a family, a couple, being held. Being here.
For there’s nowhere else when one has conquered the territory of Taurus, this peaceful island which will never be threatened by the assaults of this immense ocean of our subconscious. We feel good in our bodies, in Taurus, and healing this axis is feeling that the Psyche (Scorpio) has finally found anchor in the security of the body (Taurus), where she can actualize and express her full potential. In Taurus there is no “maybe”, no “but”, no “if”, there is just “being” and “doing”. We realize the fantasy, we materialize.
In this full moon’s configuration, the Scorpion is the enemy, you got that already. He is the ocean threatening the island: tumultuous, hiding unfathomable depths, opaque and mysterious. He is the negative critique inside each of us, our part of cynicism, our most extreme thoughts and emotions, the “shrink-who-gets-it-all-but-never-learned-how-to-live” side of ourselves. Why make it simple when we can make it complicated ?
The scorpion wants to see beyond what’s just there, uncover the unseen. But do we really need that today? Do we still need to explore the wound in order to live? Activate lurking conflicts so we’re not taken by surprise? Well NO, says the eclipse. The Bull will know how to defend himself if the enemy shows. He does not need to anticipate. His land is his own and he knows how to inhabit it. He teaches us to stop searching, for everything is there.

Talkin about a revolution is the song I listened to while waiting for my son to be born. His arrival ends more than a decade of Pluto traveling in Capricorn (since 2008), where it challenged the old and heavy traditional systems that no longer fit the hopes and power of this new generation. It is now time for reform, progress, collectivism, transformation of the brain, of science and tech ; it is time for the emergence of parallel languages and systems of communication; time for renewable energies, time for a revolution of gender, of race ; time for more tolerance and equality.
The ways of Pluto aren’t gentle ones . It’s last journey through Aquarius saw the advent of the French, American and Industrial Revolutions, and of the Age of Enlightenment… social and technological changes of long lasting impact that were brought forth by waves of violence and upheaval.
In order to temper Pluto’s destructive power we must proceed with love. A lot of it. Cause Pluto in Aquarius will often forget about love. The healing and transformative power of it. Aquarius is made of ideas, he doesn’t have a body, he doesn’t have a heart. Pluto in its sign will be tolerant in concept yet intolerant in its emotional practice. So we should be beware not to harm the ones we attempt to free.
We should experiment our ideas, incarnate them, confront them with materials realities, with our bodies, our health, our sexualities. We should put down our phones and meet each other again. Step out of solitude and mingle with groups; build together, support and each other. We should speak our truths, but be tolerant of those of others. We should care for friends, and strangers. We should make the Alien our kin, This Revolution should be one of love if we want to bring forth true progress.
N E W M O O N I N S A G I T T A R I U S - 23 november 2022
Today is the New Moon in Sagittarius, which in my opinion is a sign of commitment and faith. What does this Sagittarius Season mean to tell us? The Centaur is the teacher of the Zodiac, , through his words, he gives meaning to what we’ve felt in the depths of Scorpio. It is the part of us which transcends emotion to take new directions. Therefore, this end of November marks the kick off for a season of fire and faith.
The burning enthusiasm of our Sagittarius side, its dogmatism, its powerful need to find a philosophy that can sublimate our human condition, often hides our wound and our fear. The energy of Scorpio lurks close by ; and the part of our charts that contains Sagittarius can aim for the skies, its hooves are rooted on the ground and it knows the call of the world below. The Centaur is us was wounded by Hercules and will never heal. It is this pull between divine aspirations (symbolized by the arrow pointed towards the skies) and this animal body condemned to a painful incarnation on earth, that is at the core of Sagittarius’ psychology.
This pain is at the root of our quest, our luminous and buoyant joy. In order for faith not to become fanatism (and flight), it is fundamental to accept our fear: the fear that comes with each big decision and great move forward. Once the arrow is pulled, there’s no way back. It is this fear of missing the target that we should work on. When our Sagittarius side accepts the fear, it silences it with its laughter, it tames it through movement and travels, it transcends it through prayer. When its opposite sign of Gemini hesitated and suggest multiple possibilities. Sagittarius makes a single choice, and by chosing finds his freedom.
Happy New Moon
Full moon and eclipse in Taurus - 08/11/2022
Sebastiao Salgado
Today is the lunar eclipse in the Taurus-Scorpio Axis. Scorpio is the sign that speaks the most of desire : « What do you want ? » is a question asked by the Devil in Cazotte’s famous novel, and analysed in extenso by Lacan. Giving an answer requires confronting ourselves to our instincts, our impulses, and our demons too : in short, all that is uncontrollable and that the natives of scorpio should get to know and navigate in the course of their existence. Flirting with the energy of this sign, it is colliding - inevitably and regularly - with what is potentially destructive in our psyches (but oh so powerful). When desire is set in motion to create, it can do wonders. It transforms, shapes, and colors everything it touches with unexplainable authenticity. If Taurus is the house, Scorpion is the soul, the flames in the fireplaces. It sheds light on the contours of our material lives, and helps us distinguish what’s necessary and what’s become superfluous. Taurus has a hard time letting go. In his need for peace and tranquillity, he tends to identify with what he has, not to what he is ; he attaches himself to objects, places and people. Prisonner of his own habits, he ends up stagnating, locking himself up in a prison of comfort, attempting to silence the conflict (and truth) that animate him deeply. This full moon in Taurus is asking us to let go of what is no longer necessary, to connect with our desire in order speak and create. We must risk losing something in order to find a more authentic peace, based on the strength of the soul, not on habits and possessions. When Scorpio and Taurus hold hands, a peaceful force is set in motion, a body animated by our most essential desires. A lesson of this full moon is that true peace is a peace that is regularly questioned.
The New Moon in Libra - 25/09/2022
A few days after the equinox (which means equal to the night) comes the New moon in Libra. The entry into this season made me think of the necessity of choice. It seems like the fate of Libra is indeed to learn how to chose, how to pose a judgement when he’d rather remain equal, neutral, enjoying everything in even shares. According to Liz Greene, the ambivalence and the difficulty in choosing of Libra does not come from a congenial inability to decide, but from a fear of the consequences. By choosing we necessarily cut ourselves in half, relegating a part of our psyche to the shadows. We also commit to incarnation, since wander and absence of choice are characteristic of abstract thinking, while choice allows us to build. Libra likes neither choice nor the reality of matter. He often shuts himself off from his body, for no mortal flesh can satisfy his aesthetical demands, not even his. Librans have this ability to navigate both sides of life in the course of their existence: feeling at times masculine, others feminine, sometimes spirit, sometimes flesh. The quest of relationship that we associate to the sign isn’t so much a matter of romanticism than it is of equilibrium. The Libra man, searching for his « feminine », is known for his refinement and his sensibility to the aesthetics of the environment (which he himself incarnates and demands of the Other), while the Libra woman has a rational mind, an objectivity, a need for partiality in her relationships. In the Other, the Libra searches for the part of himself which he set a aside in a past choice : his soul mate. To honor this New Moon, it mind be a good idea to observe our Other (a partner, a sister, a mother, a child), and think about the part of ourselves which we abandon in him. Is it time to reassemble? Or simply to acknowledge that we cannot be everything at the same time, hence the beauty of the alterity that surrounds us?
Mercury Retrogrades - 09/09/2022
Mercury retrogrades in the signs of Libra and Virgo (9th of September - 2ndof October). When Mercury retrogrades he retraces his steps, as if he’d dropped something : a map, a key, a knowledge. It is about going back and patiently looking (for as the Hangman indicates in a game of Tarot, we do not have all the cards in hand yet). By revisiting the constellations of Libra and Virgo, this retrograde ponders the necessity of relational compromise (Libra) and its limits; how to do together without compromising one’s individual integrity (Virgo). Libra is about Cultural Laws. She is always generalizing, in an attempt to make society and relationships function. She’s about Moral and Principles. That is why she masters the realms of Justice, Art, and Love, elements necessary to the cohesion of the Whole. But Virgo obeys the laws of her own nature, and her nature is inherently perfect, way more balanced than the disincarnate rules conceived by the human mind and the cold intellect of Libra. In the contrast between Virgo and Libra we find that age old dichotomy between Nature and Culture, between the Individual and the Collective, between the I and the Us. This Mercury retrograde will try and negotiate these contrasts, find agreements while respecting the limits of one’s individual nature. It is about finding an equilibrium between listening to the Other and listening to Oneself, understanding that a relationship isn’t a perpetual Two, but two distinct and honest individuals standing in front of one another. Beyond moral, there is Love, and that is the ultimate source of every true agreement. In the confusion that a retrograde can generate, we find a great moment of clarity on September 22nd, when Mercury conjuncts the Sun. This union marks a change of season as well as a change of perspective. On the 10th of October, a post retrograde Mercury will enter Libra again, letting the fog of its opposition to Neptune dissipate. It will be time to communicate one’s new law, and see how it is received by the other.
Full Moon in Pisces- 09/09/2022
Our Goodbyes to the Queen
The full moon in Pisces is a moment of transition and the beginning of a new period. We are indeed halfway through the zodiacal year (which starts in April), and about to embark on a wintery journey. Summer is ending and the full moon asks us to let go of an old belief, a conditioning that prevents us from moving forward. Pisces is a sign weighed by stories and souvenirs that don’t really belong to him. In that he is the champion of the collective, his savior, his martyr, a prince sacrificed to universal causes. Pisces identifies himself to suffering: that is the crux of his identity. But in his discernment the Virgo Sun sets Pisces straight: the full moon therefore asks us to stop identifying ourselves with the pains from the past so that we can become brand new individuals. Do I really need this pain in order to exist? Does my identity rest on the yesterday ? Maybe not, I am also today and tomorrow. It might be time to heal finally, and let the Queen rest.
More concretely, this is a Harvest Moon. So what did I gather these past six months (when the full moon rose in Virgo), and how can I use it? It is about going beyond the contemplative passivity of Pisces and materialize our projects, step by step, finding joy in the process. And humility too, perhaps. For behind Pisces’ sacrificial idealism lurks the shadow of pride, and the tendency to dream a lot but do little. This full moon is about acting on it. The issue of the utility of our dreams is central to the full moon, for the Pisces-Virgo axis is one of service.
Jupiter is ahead of the moon by just of few degrees, in the neighboring sign of Aries: he represents opportunities to act, the energy, the emergence. And Uranus is sextile the moon: planet of renewal, awakening, shock. Time to accept tomorrow, and let ourselves be surprised by the Charles hiding in all of us.
Mars in Gemini- 19/08/2022
The Long Journey
Tomorrow, Mars will enter the sign of Gemini for seven months (20th of August 2022 – 25th of March 2023). The warrior of the Zodiac usually spends two months in each sign, but his long retrograde between October 22 and January 23 will allow him to explore certain problematics. When a planet retrogrades, its functions and the qualities of the sign it seems to move backwards in are perturbed and questioned. Mars is the function that pushes us towards the outside world so that we can assert our individuality and express our desires, he’s about the ways we act with Others. His stay in the indecisive constellation of Gemini will allow us to understand our ambivalence when asserting certain desires (our paradoxes), experiment a great varieties of ways to proceed, and open our existences to new possibilities.
Unlike his Sagittarian opposite, Gemini considers there’s more than one way to get to shore safely. Sign of social contact, communication, and exchange, the duality of Gemini brings a lightness of being : moving, speaking, exploring new options will seem easier. This flexibility is meant to help us step out of rigid personal beliefs so as to adapt to changing circumstances: as a mutable sign, these coming six months require us to evolve in the ways we think (Gemini), and act (Mars). The Gemini part of us (present in each personal chart) is ambivalent: it depends and builds itself in relation to the Other. It’s the part of us that often chooses a symbolic “brother” to incarnate our shadow side: the intentions and desires we struggle to integrate consciously within ourselves. Mars trailblazing through this sign guarantees that light will be shed on certain relational dynamics: our responsibility in the misunderstandings, the “duality” inherent in our words.
It’s important to understand that with the warrior of the zodiac in the undecisive sign of the Twins, we won’t necessarily know where we’re headed: these six months will be a time of experimentation and discovery. The final outcome will appear several months in, revealed by experience itself, by our ability to play with life and its circumstances.
If the signs could speak - 01/07/2022
Aries : “Man’s task is to give birth to himself. To become what he potentially is.” Eric Fromm
Taurus : “So, said the rich man, speak to us of Giving. And he answered : you give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.” Khalil Gibran
Gemini : “We are, I know not how, double in ourselves, so that what we believe we disbelieve and cannot rid ourselves of what we condemn.” Michel de Montaigne
Cancer : “The ache for home lives in all of us. The safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned.” Maya Angelou
Leo : “Lucidity is the wound closest to the sun.” René Char
Virgo : “I am not afraid of storms for I am learning how to sail my ship.” Louisa May Alcott
Libra : “There are but two sorts of men. The righteous who believe themselves sinners; the rest, sinners, who believe themselves righteous.” Blaise Pascal
Scorpio : “I feel there are territories within that are totally unknown… We think we know ourselves when we know only this little bitty part… Catharsis is getting rid of something. I’m not looking to get rid of it, I want to find it. I’m not doing this in order to vent demons. I want to shake hands with them.” Sam Shephard
Sagittarius : “ Faith must precede knowledge and mocks at definitions. Indeed, it is faith that leads to knowledge and lights its way.” Michel Aflaq
Capricorn : “Experience is not what happens to a man, it is what a man does with what happens to him.” Aldous Huxley
Aquarius : “Hell, in my opinion, is to be stuck between two dumb fools, in front of an empty glass.” Jim Harrison
Pisces : “ There is no reality but the one contained within us. That is why so many people live such unreal lives. They take the images outside of them for reality and never allow the world within to assert itself. ” Herman Hesse
A collaborative and creative endeavor with the band Oracles Sisters and their army of resistants. These horoscopes are freely inspired by the mythic stories and images which characterize the signs.
“The year is 2132, the world is overseen by a network of nefarious technocratic governments, access to nature is reserved for the elite, protests rage and Christian churches solicit subscribers in the classified pages. Bob Dylan is posthumously convicted, dolphins design a crude atom bomb and objective truths no longer exist. Oracle Sisters, meanwhile, are the house band in a clandestine bar for dissident artists… Read more in The Oracle.”
Aries
Pluto, lord of death and rebirth, has just entered your fiery constellation. Danger my dear. The Ram is already, by nature, a breaker of the old law, and Hades never concerned himself with the moralities that exists beyond his fated realm. This duo is a radical one. The ram’s instincts are now fueled by the underworld and the impulse to throw yourself in fire will increase. This is how you feel alive, this is how you conquer existence. But beware, death, now more than ever, lurks in the shadow of your sword. Before you strike, remember that every victory is a death somehow.
Taurus
Quiet time for the bull. Fruits and flowers are scarce. Where does one go when there’s no land to cultivate ? Build a garden with the remnants of the wreck. We’re weary of disincarnate wealth. True riches are those you can caress.
Gemini
Mercury has just entered your polar opposite. The centaur is roaring truths, you must go in with the doubts, the paradoxes, the lies. An old French man by the name of Montaigne once warned: “We are, I know not how, double in ourselves, so that what we believe, we disbelieve, and cannot rid ourselves of what we condemn.”
Cancer
Neptune’s still retrograding in the Crab’s womb, searching for the source, a genesis, a beginning of time. Don’t let yourself drawn too deep into the abyss or its lessons will fail to incarnate. Let go of narrow notions of belonging. Mother the strangers you’ve never held, and stop cloning babies out of thin air. There are enough of us down here.
Leo
Hey there beautiful. Now more than ever the strength of collective trends, the power of the mass is threatening your unique persona. Everyone’s original, everyone’s fluid, gender is obsolete, we wear tank tops threaded with fluorescent plankton and they are too many rockstars for us to keep count. And yet, this isn’t your Golden Age, is it? for they are no more centers from which to roar. Where are you my prince? Foreign suns have entered our galaxy, sources of light and warmth are plenty, but none of them is you.
Remember Leo, the root of your difference. It’s not about diamond gowns, velvet shoes and party favors, it’s about the animal within, the rage, the cry and the joy. Be uncivil, disobedient and mighty. Fight the egalitarian age with all your pride. A revolution facing no king is a dead one.
Virgo
Do you know the etymology of ‘virgin’, parthenos in greek, almah in Hebrew? It means unmarried. Not chaste, sexually intact, anal in all ways, just unmarried. Your constellation was, for centuries, associated with harlots, body experts, witches and alchemists. Virgo is a free woman whose pact of fidelity is with herself. She is the uninfluenced constellation, hence her attachment to the perfect laws of nature and her disgust for the chaos brought on by men. Now that our DNA’s are being altered in labs so that mama can get the ass she wants and papa the dick of his dreams, where do you stand, Virgo, and how do you feel? This month, take some time every day to elaborate on what perfection means to you, and publish it on your blog. Our scientists need the reading.
Libra
Remember Ancient Egypt, where the souls of the deceased were weighed on your scales awaiting judgment? When the living feared your otherworldly sense of justice? Remember when balance was still a thing? Libra, now is not the time to plan swinger parties with the three headed citizens of neighboring galaxies, we need you to cut the cake. Counter Pluto in Aries’ fire power with some oldschool diplomacy, you’re the original big brother, and Saturn’s here.
Scorpio
“Better to reign in hell, than serve in heav’n.”, right, Scorpio? That’s what Milton wrote, but now that paradise seems lost, don’t you miss pulling the moves on its angels? And isn’t your sign the one whose lust for sex hides the most absolute lust for love? Who do you love, scorpio? That’s the question of the month. The north node is in your sign and our souls are calling for bare truths. Expose yourself.
Sagittarius
Hermes is here. He’s the only god that’s allowed access in all realms, Sagittarius. The one above, the one below, the ivory towers of today’s elites and the undergrounds where our new society roams. He’s a trickster, a negotiator, one who’s ambivalence threatens your straightforward truths. You have a message to send, Sagittarius. Will it be a hologram, a radio contact between ships, or a simple letter like those we use to forge on leaves? Make it direct, but not dogmatic, faithful, but not fanatical. Remember your common flaw is to discard the world below where all your clear intuitions stem from. Don’t reject the darkness out of which all light is created.
Capricorn
Major planets in cardinal signs are squaring you, dear goat, our old father. You are Reality itself, incarnation in matter. Your perseverance can turn wastelands into glorious cities. Your gravity is what keeps us bound to earthly achievements. But now that the old kings are gone, with what kind of authority do you wish to rule? We need you to draw the limit, Capricorn. The progress brought on by your Aquarian brother was wonderful for the spirit, but it’s threatening the rhythm of time itself. What will it be? Limiting light-speed travels, mining on Mars, body swaps? Get on it and draft a couple laws, Capricorn. You’re not that obsolete and we need a daddy lesson.
Aquarius
Your rulers are born enemies. Ouranos, lightning god and source of all utopias, rejects the fate of his Titan son, Kronos. This dilemma splits our society in two, Aquarius. Space Travelers on the one hand, Earthbound groups on the other. Your sign is one of equality and civilization, meant to shatter the towers of hierarchy. What’s the value of that bridge between earth and sky if only the rich get access to it? Your constellation has often rejected the fate and the feminine, the law of death in the human realm. But your spirit may have gone too high. Can there be life in the silent spaces of the sky? Get back down, brilliant brother. Your waters are meant to be poured on Earth.
Pisces
Mighty Pisces, you resist understanding and your lessons can only be felt. Our technologies have failed to conquer your waters. Probes and radars go silent below the newly built Atlantis. Jupiter has now reached the center of your constellation and we’re seeing positive outcomes. The intergalactical accords have been signed in the outer rim, initiating a new era. We need the illusions you weave in our thoughts, the dreams you thread in our realities. But let us not drift too far into the mystique. Help our anchors reach the shore. Blessed be your words, your colors. Blessed be your music.
